Action:
1) Restart Windows 95.
2) Open the 'Device Manager', and select the 'View devices by connection' radio button.

3) In the 'View devices by connection' list box, double-click the 'Plug and Play BIOS', double-click the 'PCI bus' , select the hard drive controller icon that the CD-ROM drive is connected to, and click 'Properties'. (The Hard drive controller 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
NOTE: If your CD-ROM drive is connected to an EIDE controller on the sound card, view the sound card driver properties by opening the 'Device Manager', selecting the 'View devices by type' radio button, double-clicking on 'Sound, video and game controllers', and double-clicking on the appropriate sound card.
4) Click the 'Resources' tab and view the 'Conflicting device list' area to determine what device is conflicting with EIDE controller and which resource value is in conflict.
5) Click 'OK' to close the hard drive controller 'Properties' dialog box.
6) Double-click on device type conflicting with the EIDE controller drive.
7) Double-click on the device conflicting with the EIDE controller drive. (The device 'Properties' dialog box appears.
8) Click the 'Resources' tab and if the 'Use automatic settings' check box is selected, clear it.
9) Select the resource in the 'Resource settings' list box and click 'Change Setting...'.
NOTE: If the 'No Modifications Allowed' message box appears, this resource cannot be changed.

10) Select a new value from the list of available unassigned resources in the pull down list box and then press 'OK'.
NOTE 1: If the device is not plug and play, you will have to set the resources using hardware jumpers before the resource value can be changed.
NOTE 2: If you cannot change resources assigned to the device conflicting with the EIDE controller, you may have to remove the conflicting device or configure the CD-ROM drive to run on another EIDE controller.
11) Restart Windows 95 for the change to take effect.
12) View the file list for a CD-ROM.
